Welcome Potential Participant!
The Nanaimo Junior and Intermediate Timbermen take great pride in community
lacrosse development and actively being involved with tomorrow’s talented lacrosse athletes.
In our continuing efforts to help improve lacrosse in the community, we will continue to give
back to the game we love; to which we are proud to introduce our second annual “Prospect Camp”.
This Prospect Camp is open to graduating Midgets, Intermediate and Junior players and will take
place on Saturday August 9, 2008 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo. For more
information on whether or not you can participate, visit our page on
'Who Can Attend?'. There is no fee associated with the camp!
The evaluation process of throughout the Midget and Intermediate lacrosse season is not an
easy task. This 1-day camp will give our evaluators and scouts including our coaching staff, an
opportunity to observe the skill sets that these athletes possess over and above what has been
witnessed throughout the 2008 lacrosse season.
The process now moves into its second phase whereby these ‘camp registered’ participants will
be assessed during the 1-day camp and the third phase is to continue to evaluate throughout the
fall months with their club field lacrosse teams. All of the participants whom attend this
‘Prospect Camp’ should take pride in their achievements and the efforts that they have put forth
both on and off the floor this summer. A player whom takes pride in their association, team and
has respect for themselves, their team and all involved with this team; that is the type of attitude
and mindset that the Timbermen organization are focusing on as they build on their current successes
for the future of lacrosse in the Hub City of Nanaimo.
Do not think for one instant that just because you play for a team that is not 'A' calibre
means we will not consider you for our team. Some of the best players in this game of lacrosse
come from associations and teams that do not have 'A' calibre programs.
The Timbermen family would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Nanaimo
Ice Centre and the Frank Crane Arena and the Parks and Recreation department, for their tremendous
hospitality throughout the 2007/08 lacrosse seasons and this second annual ‘Prospect Camp’.
